How long have you been on DeviantArt?
If my profile page is to be believed, ten years.
What does your username mean?
I'm kind of ashamed to admit this, but I used a naming book in high school to come up with a Wiccan name for myself, and according to that book, my name is a mix of Greek and Swahili that comes out to mean something akin to "Far-Off Light".
Describe yourself in three words.
Tentative prospective animator.
Are you left or right handed?
Total leftie.
What was your first deviation?
I think it's this:
What is your favourite type of art to create?
I'm loving animating.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I'd like to master animation. I know it's the same thing, but I've only just started, so I don't think it counts.
What was your first favourite?
something by an artist who erased their account, so unfortunately I can't find it.
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
I love pretty much everything, but right now I'm pretty interested in digital 2D art.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
That's a tie between / and .
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I've met , which was pretty darned awesome, but at this point in my artistic career, I'd really like to meet . Preferably to get some tips/tricks on how to use ZBrush.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Every deviant on my watch list has impacted my life. And a lot of them taught me that, no matter what family might say, it's okay to be, and make a living off being, a nerd.
What are your preferred tools to create art?
My Cintiq is my pride and joy, but I still love working with pencil and paper.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
when I'm surrounded by the things that bring me joy, I'm at my most creative.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
probably learning that there was a place out there where I could get great criticism and input on my work. It's meant a lot to me as an artist.
For the record, I have no idea where to tag this thing, so I'm doing it down here. #deviantartistquestionnaire
I'd also like to state for the record that the portfolio section of this website needs to be able to support video. As someone who is attempting to get into art school, many schools have actually declined my applications because I couldn't show them my reel in my portfolio.

My deviantART story
I joined deviantART ten years ago. I was entering my last year of high school, and I'd had a terrible experience with ELFWood with a little troll who shall remain Ellie D. I was feeling as though the world of art were unaccessible because of innumerable factors, amongst which was my inability to learn the way the teachers seemed to think I should.
When I got here, I discovered the amazing community of artists of all shapes and sizes centered around one thing: their passion for their craft. It was the first time I'd been able to broaden my horizons in regards to art in a way I actually understood. There were tutorials everywhere, and the
Woo. Meme
Hey, just did the deviantART meme.
1. How did you join deviantART?
I joined deviantART because of a number of reasons. I was previously on ElfWood (and in fact still have an account with them), but because of the long wait time between submission and actual posting, as well as the fact that I was getting hounded by trolls over there, I decided to search for somewhere else.
2. What does your username have to do with you?
A friend picked it out for me when I was in high school. I was told that, besides it having the name of a goddess from multiple religions, it also means "far-off light" in a mix of...I think Gaelic and Swahili.

3. What
A simple wish
Perhaps I hope for too much, but lately I have noticed that deviantART members have begun using this site, which I love very much, as something akin to pintrest, photobucket, tinypic, and shutterfly. I am sorry, but this site was not meant for that. At least, I do not believe it was meant for that. It is not supposed to be a place where one downloads pictures of one's favorite artists, or a meal one had at a restaurant, or even, in all honesty, the pictures of one and one's friends at ComicCon, or any other costume/artistic convention.
This site is supposed to be a place where ARTISTS post and store their work in a detailed and organized
